Orlaith Carmody has specific expertise in executive and business coaching (problem solving at all levels) leadership development, people and team development, effective communication, business development and customer relations. Her approach is to coach the client to understand the decisions they have to make, to put a realistic strategy in place, and to begin taking the steps they need to effect change. She acts as an accountability partner to keep the plan on track – and to revise as necessary – and as a challenger, sounding board and sharer of business expertise. She is the author of the best selling business book, Perform as A Leader.
Following an early career as a journalist with RTE, Orlaith developed business interests in media, recruitment, education and training; and attained board positions in the SME, public and charity sectors. Now a dedicated coach and mentor, she brings this wealth of real experience and insight to every client engagement, supporting SMEs to grow and thrive, and senior executives as they navigate their roles and responsibilities.
She is a founder director of Dorland Training Ltd, T/A Gavin Duffy and Associates, which has advised, coached and mentored start-ups and SMEs in Ireland for over 30 years.
Orlaith holds an MA from Dublin City University (DCU). She is an accredited Senior Practitioner with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC); she is a Fellow of the Irish Institute of Training and Development (IITD); a Certified Management Consultant (CMC); and member of the Institute of Directors (IoD).
