John Leenane


John is passionate about helping teams build better products and services and launching these to global audiences, at scale.  

John spent 17 years living in Silicon Valley, where he amassed a broad and diverse set of experiences and skills across many industry categories. His primary focus was in creating and launching innovative software products and services in both the consumer and enterprise spaces. He has in-depth knowledge of the Product, Sales, Marketing, Innovation, Design, and Operations functions. 

John has held executive positions in large companies such as First Data, PayPal and VeriSign, and has worked in venture capital, founded startups and ran a product design firm.  

On returning to Ireland, John co-founded JALCO, a consulting and advisory company helping technology companies in the areas of, product design, business growth, branding, positioning and innovation.  JALCO’s clients span the start-up ecosystem [Evervault, NDRC, Nory], to large global companies [Accenture, Cisco], as well as Universities looking at innovation or spin out opportunities [LIT, NUIG, UCD]. 

Before returning to Ireland, John was the General Manager of ZURB, a product design company, which was the creator of Foundation, a responsive front-end framework used across the world.  

Prior to ZURB, John was a co-Founder of SnapStyle, a TV commerce platform. Before this, John was also the Founder and CEO of Kudyou, a cause marketing and social giving platform which raised funding from Enterprise Ireland as well as US investors.  

Before being involved in his startups, John spent some time in venture capital as an Entrepreneur-In-Residence (EIR) with EPVC, generating deal flow, performing diligence and working with portfolio companies.
