Deirdre MacCormack


Deirdre MacCormack is an award-winning founder with an entrepreneurial approach to business. Currently heading up her own consultancy, Ad Astra Consulting Ltd, Deirdre mentors companies on all aspects of business including marketing, fund raising and thought leadership.  

Deirdre also co-founded Mcor Technologies Ltd, a 3D printing company that launched 4 flagship products, sold through a network of 150 dealers in 50 countries and raised €20 million euros investment from both angel and VC investors. 

Mcor won the All-Island Seedcorn competition in 2008 (overall winner), Ulster Business Achiever Award in 2009 (overall winner), an industry Brand Award  in 2013, the Best of Innovation at CES 2016 and enjoyed coverage in international media such as Fox News, Forbes, Fortune, BBC and Motley Fool. 

Deirdre herself was 2015 Silver Stevie Award Winner for Women in Business, in the category of Female Executive of the Year, Business Products, a runner up in the Image Magazine Business Awards and named in the top 10 of the most influential women in 3D printing by All3DP in 2016 and 2017.  

Experienced in working with the local enterprise boards and Enterprise Ireland and involvement in Women’s networks such as the Women’s Executive Network (WXN), Women Mean Business (WMB), Image Magazine Women’s Network and Women in 3D Printing (Wi3DP). Deirdre is also chair of the Ardee Community Development Company, a community owned, not for profit, social enterprise organization.
