“Brian is an experienced senior business leader having operated as Managing Director and at board level in Citibank Europe plc. He has over 30+ years of multinational experience running businesses with gross revenues of $1.2 billion. This encompassed international sales, product and service businesses as well as responsibility for operations oversight, implementation and outsourcing businesses. He has been a leader in innovation and pioneered the first innovation lab globally for Citibank and Citibank announced a Masters scholarship in his name The lab’s focus is on next generation products and services in the banking space e.g. receivables, payments, foreign exchange, simplification of processes, new methods of authentication and suchlike. His experience spans a range of international financial services, treasury, corporate finance and innovation areas and specifically he was a member of the cross business senior Global Innovation Council for Citibank in New York. He was appointed by a former Irish Government Minister to the Research Prioritisation Steering Group and was Chair of the Technology, Social Media, Creative and Cultural Enterprise Group. He was also Chairman of DCU Educational Trust for 8 years. He lectured on Treasury and Investments at Masters level for 2 years at DCU. He has been board director of a number of companies including Citibank Europe plc, Unipol Fondi Limited (funds), Finat Limited (Natuzzi) and other pension fund trustee and investment services companies. He is a member of the largest angel investor group globally, based in the West Coast U.S. He is passionately interested in using his wide ranging business experience to support companies in Ireland reach their potential. Most recently, he was appointed by EI, IDA and UCC as Chairman of the Governance, Risk and Compliance Technology Centre.
